Comfy Casual Fall

I can hardly believe it’s mid October already. I’ve been keeping very busy – between full-time work, learning Mandarin (ni hao!!), and working on some projects, I barely have time to get my beauty sleep! Fall is here, and I am loving the beauty of nature at this time of year. The crisp and chilly weather has got me craving for simple, chic, and understated outfits.

Back

My last post was in July, and it is now September. Time flies and things happen. My hiatus can be explained simply by saying I haven’t been in the mood to engage in social media lately. My grandmother passed away recently so I’ve been feeling really down. I had family from out of town visiting and it was really nice to be able to spend time with them during this difficult time. I also took some time off work. It was a good break and gave me the opportunity to reflect on life and everything that’s going on.

Anyway, let’s talk about happy stuff! While my cousin was here from Florida, we got to do some fun things together, such as get our nails done at Glam Nail Studio! It’s a highlight of my cousin’s to visit Glam when she visits Vancouver because what they offer is truly unique and not available in that many places in North America. They do some amazing Japanese 3D nail art; the technicians there are all so skilled! I simply brought in a photo of a nail design I saw online and they were able to copy it exactly and even made mine look better than the magazine’s. My “pucci nails” design was all hand drawn; my cousin and I were so impressed!! My cousin designed her own set and each nail ended up having a different design. So kawaii! Lol

A new set costs about $80+ (really depends on how many gems, stones, or other 3D things you add on) and lasts about 1 month.

Once I get back into the groove of things, my blog will be up and running as per usual!

The Classics

To me, every piece of my outfit is a “classic”. When can you go wrong with a white button-up, great fitting black pants, a red statement necklace, leopard shoes, and Chanel? The answer is never. ; )

I was quick to fall in love with these DL1961 jeggings (raved about by bloggers such as Bag Snob and The Blonde Salad) after buying them a few months ago. Previous to these, I wore my Citizens of Humanity Avedon Skinnies a lot, but found that they would lose their shape after a few wears (not a good look, especially in the thigh and bum regions!). I bought the DL1961 jeans in my true size, but now that I wear them regularly, I wish that I bought one size bigger because they really do not stretch!! It’s great in a way because compared to the Citizens, these hold its shape so well, and keep everything “tucked/sucked in”. Another thing I love about them is the colour – they are such a pigmented black, and have yet to fade. These jeggings are definitely a staple item in my wardrobe!
